There are nine MassBay programs (listed below) in the Health Sciences area that require you to earn a minimum Grade Point Average in select prerequisite courses and/or meet other criteria before you are eligible for admission. Requirements, which are explained in detail at Nursing and Allied Health Profession Programs Information Sessions which are held throughout the year and vary with each program.
Health Sciences Admissions Process
What is Selective Admissions?
There are two distinct applications required for admissions to the Health Sciences programs:
MassBay Community College Application
If you’ve never previously enrolled at MassBay, you must first complete and submit a MassBay Community College Application, and select your target health sciences program on page 2. Once your application has been processed, you will be classified as a General Studies student with a concentration in your target health Sciences program. This will be your MassBay student classification until you have completed your target Health Sciences program’s admissions requirements, as well as the College’s general education requirements and the co-requisite requirements for your program’s degree or certificate. When you are accepted and enrolled, you need to receive immunizations before you attend classes as a full-time student. Please file the General Student Immunization Form.

Health Sciences Program Application
The selective Health Sciences programs each accept a limited number of students and there is a secondary application process. Links to download the program application packets and to view the program overview webpages are shown in the below table. Program applications and supporting documentation are accepted up to one year in advance of the application deadlines.
Health Sciences students must also file a second Immunization Form for Health Sciences Students, and meet Health Sciences - Health and Background Check Requirements

*** Rolling Admissions — Candidates are invited to submit their program applications to MassBay Community College anytime within a large window. With rolling admissions programs, your application will be examined as soon as it is received, instead of MassBay waiting to evaluate all applications concurrently. The result is that you will likely be hearing a decision much earlier than you would for other types of applications. Please see your target program’s application/checklist for its rolling admissions deadline.
