Special Circumstance

You may request a reconsideration of your financial aid through the process known as Professional Judgement.

We recognize that a family’s income is not always consistent from one year to the next, and that circumstances beyond a family’s control may inhibit the ability to contribute to educational expenses. Therefore, we welcome the opportunity to discuss any change in your family’s financial status that is not reflected on the FAFSA.

State Emergency Fund for Students

MassBay Community College was granted a State Emergency Fund Pilot to assist students with additional expenses and extenuating circumstances. Students may be eligible to receive up to $5,000 for an academic year, from fall to the end of the academic year in spring. Please note that not all students will qualify, and MassBay may not be able to meet the full financial needs of all that do qualify. Eligible expenses include any component of a student’s cost of attendance, such as housing, groceries, technology, child care, educational supplies, health care, or for emergency costs.

To find out if you are eligible for the Emergency Fund Pilot Program, please use your MassBay Email Address and Password to open and fill out thr Emergency Fund Pilot Form to learn more about the fund and to also apply.

If you have any questions, please email the financial aid office at finaid@massbay.edu.
