Massachusetts Bay Community College Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees hold monthly meetings, which are promoted publicly via the College website and its Facebook (Meta) page, and are streamed live on the College’s YouTube page. Minutes of each meeting are subsequently posted on the College’s website as well.

The bylaws of the MassBay Board of Trustees are posted on the College website and describe the authority, responsibilities, and relationships among the governing board and the constituencies of the College.

The Board of Trustees consists of eleven (11) members, ten (10) of whom are appointed by the Governor of Massachusetts. Two members are alumni of the College, one appointed by the Governor and one voted on by a vote of the Alumni Association. One member is a full-time student elected by the student body to serve a one-year term. All other Board members serve a five-year term and may be considered for a second five-year term. The President serves as secretary to the Board, but is not a voting member. The Chair of the Board is appointed by the Governor.
