To apply to MassBay, complete the MassBay Online Application.

In general, the application process includes:

• Submit an online application
• Provide transcripts (high school and/or college, if applicable)
• Complete placement and advising steps

Yes. If you have served or are currently serving, you may be eligible to receive academic credit for your military training and experience.

• If you served in the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or Navy, you can request your Joint Services Transcript (JST).
• If you served in the U.S. Air Force, you can request your transcript through the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF).

Once received, transcripts can be submitted to MassBay for evaluation.

Once you have applied, submitted your transcripts, and completed placement testing requirements, you will receive an email inviting you to register for a Ready2Register (R2R) Session.

After completing your R2R Session, you will schedule a new student advising appointment with your academic advisor. During this appointment, your advisor will collect your Certificate of Eligibility (COE), if applicable.

Once you have registered for classes, you must complete the Request for Benefits Form.

This will prompt the School Certifying Official (SCO) to certify your enrollment with the VA./

If you are using the National Guard tuition waiver, please submit the waiver to veterans@massbay.edu .

If you are currently using VA education benefits, such as the Montgomery GI Bill Active Duty (Chapter 30), Vocational Readiness and Employment (Chapter 31), Post‑9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33), or Dependents Educational Assistance (Chapter 35), at another institution, you must request a parent school letter from the Veterans Office at your primary degree granting institution. This letter verifies that the courses you plan to take at MassBay will apply toward your program and allows MassBay to certify your enrollment for VA benefits as a guest student.

The Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) for students using the Post 9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33) is based on the Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) rate for an E‑5 with dependents for the ZIP code where the school is located. At MassBay, the MHA is based on the campus ZIP code and is adjusted according to your rate of pursuit (enrollment level). For students enrolled full-time at the 100% eligibility level, the MHA is approximately $4,791 per month. Students taking all of their courses online receive a reduced, national average MHA rate. Because MHA amounts can vary based on enrollment level, eligibility percentage, and course format, we recommend using the VA GI Bill Comparison Tool to view the most up to date housing allowance for MassBay.

MassBay offers a wide range of programs, including associate degrees, certificate programs, and individual courses. For more information on specific programs please review the MassBay Academic Program Curriculum Sheets.

If you are using VA education benefits, only courses that apply toward your approved degree or certificate program can be certified for benefits. Before enrolling in any courses outside of your program, you should speak with the Veterans Services Office to understand how it may impact your benefits.

To receive VA education benefits at MassBay, you must be admitted into an approved degree or certificate program (matriculated). The VA only allows schools to certify enrollment for students who are officially enrolled in a program of study. If you are interested in using benefits, you should apply to MassBay and select an eligible program. Once admitted, our office can assist you with certifying your enrollment.

For VA education benefits, full-time enrollment is typically 12 credits during the fall and spring semesters. Your rate of pursuit (full-time or part-time) is based on the number of credits you are taking, and it directly affects your Monthly Housing Allowance. If you are enrolled in fewer than 12 credits, your benefits and housing allowance may be reduced accordingly.

Selective admissions deadlines at MassBay vary by program (such as Nursing, Radiologic Technology, and other Health Sciences programs). Each program has its own application timeline and may include both a priority deadline and a final deadline. In general, you must first apply and be admitted to MassBay, and then submit a separate selective admissions application for your specific program. Because deadlines can differ and may change each year, it is important to review the requirements for your specific program or attend an information session to get the most up-to-date details. Yes. MassBay offers a dedicated space for military-connected students, known as the Bunker. The Bunker is a place where students can connect, relax, study, and access support. It’s located on the Wellesley campus in the back of the first floor, and there is an elevator for the handicapped. All military-connected students are welcome to use the space.
