Advanced Manufacturing Innovation and Technology

 

Huy Huynh and Alex Juffras demonstrate robotic arm and hand at STEM Expo MassBay Engineering students Huy Huynh of Vietnam and Alex Juffras of Hopkinton, MA, worked non-stop this semester designing and creating a prosthetic hand to demonstrate at the MassBay Student STEM Expo held on December 11, 2019. The electrical engineering students used a 3-D printer in the Wellesley engineering lab to design the arm and a series of circuits to model the movements of a human arm. The hand of the arm can perform multiple human hand functions, including speaking American Sign Language.

Certificate Programs

 

Advanced Manufacturing Innovation

This is a 12-month, three semester long fast track program that offers a stackable certificate in Advanced Manufacturing. The certificate program is designed to provide students with other pathways in the future, such as a relevant associate degree at a community college or for any student already holding a Bachelor degree, a relevant graduate degree. Through the program, students develop skills necessary in today’s advanced manufacturing industry through completing relevant hands-on course work, projects, and Internship/CO-OP.

 
 

Advanced Manufacturing Technology

This is a 12-month, three semester long fast track program that offers a stackable certificate in Advanced Manufacturing. The certificate program is designed to provide students with other pathways in the future, namely an associate degree at a community college or for any student already holding a Bachelor degree, a graduate degree at a university in advanced manufacturing. Through the program, students develop skills necessary in today’s advanced manufacturing industry trough completing relevant coursework, projects and participating in an internship. Graduates may seek positions as detailers, drafters, CAD operators and CNC programmers, and QA/QC Technicians.
