MassBay Community College is launching a new associate in science degree in diagnostic medical sonography, according to a community announcement.

The program, which takes effect during the 2026-27 academic year, is expected to combine classroom instruction, lab practice and supervised clinical experiences to prepare students for careers in ultrasound technology.

Diagnostic medical sonographers use ultrasound equipment to create images of internal body structures, helping physicians diagnose and monitor medical conditions, according to the announcement.
