MassBay Community College President David Podell has announced two community meetings on MassBay's future development plans will be held on its Wellesley campus on Thursday, September 25, 2025, and Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 6:00 pm in the Library Atrium. Dr. Podell will discuss with members of the Wellesley community the College's plans to construct the MassBay Center for Cybersecurity Education, Health, and Wellness. To fund the project, MassBay will make one of its parking lots available for sale to a housing developer in support of Governor Maura Healey's goal to add at least 222,000 units from 2025 to 2035 in the Commonwealth. Dr. Podell will be joined by officials from the Massachusetts Department of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) and from the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (HLC). Following brief presentations, audience members will be welcome to ask questions. Light refreshments to be served.
