The Achieve in Math (AIM) program is a free program offered to MassBay students each summer. This program combines an intensive, in-person multi-week summer program with ongoing academic support services throughout the summer and fall to help students achieve success in math.
This initiative helps students build and refine their math skills in preparation for the upcoming academic year. By attending AIM, students will be better prepared to excel in math courses, supporting confidence in their math skills, and potentially placing them into a higher-level math course.
The AIM program is FREE for students- including textbooks and additional materials.
Two AIM sessions are offered:
- Session I for non-STEM majors
- Session II for STEM majors
Which AIM session is for you?
- AIM Session I is designed for students who…
- Are non-STEM majors
- Placed into or are registered for developmental math courses (MA90, MA95, or MA98), or
- Are a recent high school graduate (2024–2026) who did not pass the MCAS
- AIM Session II is offered for students who…
- Are STEM majors.
- Register (or plan to register) for a math course at MassBay in the upcoming Fall semester.
- Are looking to improve their math placement to align with the curricular needs of their STEM program.
After completing AIM, students are welcome — and strongly encouraged — to continue using the Academic Achievement Center (AAC) for ongoing academic support.
