The Textbook Fund

In response to escalating textbook costs, MassBay Community College established a student Textbook & Enrichment Fund. Funds are limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters. All students will receive an email to their MassBay email address on the day the application opens.

Application Timeline & Process

Students should apply once their textbook is listed at the MassBay bookstore.  Students can submit multiple applications, should a textbook be listed after the initial application.

Key Dates:

  • Priority Deadline: Monday, August 31, 2026 at 12:00 PM 
    • Apply by this date to receive a decision by Wednesday, September 2, giving you the best chance of receiving your textbooks before the first day of class. 
  • Final Deadline to Apply: Friday, September 25, 2026 at 12:00 PM 
    • Applications submitted after August 31 may take at least 5 business days to process. Please be aware that books ordered after this point may not arrive until after classes have already begun. 
  • Funds are available starting Tuesday, September 1, and must be used by Friday, October 2, 2026.

Students awarded funding will receive credits valid only at the MassBay Bookstore.  Funds cannot be used directly at third party vendors (Pearson, ATI, etc.)

Important Info Before You Apply:

  • We know it's important to get your books on time.
    • This is not a reimbursement program. You will not be reimbursed for books purchased out-of-pocket.
    • This is a supplemental fund, it may not cover your full textbook bill.
  • MassBay no longer has an on-campus bookstore. All textbooks must be ordered through the online bookstore at massbay.ecampus.com and delivered to you at your local address or to campus.
  • Please plan ahead and allow time for shipping so you’re ready for your classes.
  • Students must be enrolled in classes for the Fall 2026 semester to be eligible to apply.
  • All enrolled students are eligible to apply, with preference given to those in financial need.
  • Awarded students will receive credits for bookstore use only; these credits cannot be transferred elsewhere.
  • Unused funds will be returned.

Bookstore Vouchers


The Textbook Fund is a College allocating money to support textbook-related expenses for students. In contrast, Book Store/Textbook Vouchers are specific allocations given directly to individual students as part of their financial aid to cover textbook costs.
