You can complete a certificate in as little as 4 months and qualify for a new career, or pursue an Associate Degree and transfer to a 4-year school. Most programs can be completed part time, and some can be finished entirely online.
MassBay admits students on a rolling basis, with an application deadline on Wednesday, August 27. Online applications are usually processed in about a week, and we will contact you if we require any additional information.
The one general requirement for admission to a degree or certificate program is high school graduation (or equivalent). If you are a high school senior, you are welcome to apply before you graduate: we will just need a copy of your final transcript once you have earned your diploma. If you completed high school outside the United States, MassBay requires that your educational documents be evaluated by an educational evaluation agency (such as CED, WES, or Spantran) that is a member of NACES.
A few of our programs do have a secondary selective admissions process — including most of our Health Sciences programs, all of our Automotive Technology programs, and our Direct Support Certificate. If the program you select has additional requirements, we will let you know.
For more information, please email admissions@massbay.edu.
Massachusetts has recently passed a law that enables most Massachusetts residents who don't hold a bachelor's degree to attend MassBay FOR FREE!
For eligible students, MassReconnect and MassEducate will cover tuition and fees, and provides a stipend for books and supplies.
There is no need to submit an application if you are planning to just take a few classes for college credit rather than earning a degree from MassBay. You can simply choose your classes and submit a Registration Form. Placement Testing is required before registering for a math or English class. Sign up for Placement Testing. If the class you want to enroll in requires proof of completion of a pre/co-requisite, please submit a registration form along with a copy of your unofficial transcript. Your unofficial transcript must state your name and the name of your school.
Please be sure to review our payment information. Financial aid is not available for students who are not enrolled in a degree or certificate program. If you are a college student already, you cannot receive federal aid at more than one school.
