Become a Buccaneer Volunteer!
Civic engagement is an opportunity for students, staff, and alumni to engage in local community-based projects. Opportunities are available to help foster your understanding and appreciation of the challenges members of our communities encounter on a daily basis. It is the hope that you will return from any volunteer experience with a deeper understanding of volunteerism, civic engagement, activism, and a greater appreciation for diverse populations.

Alternative Spring Break provides MassBay students the opportunity to engage in a meaningful service project to strengthen our local community.

1 On Campus Service Project
Tuesday, March 19th
MassBay Community College Wellesley Campus
Help us put together emergency kits for our MassBay students in need. We will provide all the supplies, and volunteers will help to assemble the kits for students.
We will also take donations; we are looking for the following items:
- Hand Sanitizer
- Non-Perishable Food Items (oatmeal, snack bars, mac & cheese, cup of noodles, etc.)
- Shaving Cream
- Feminine Hygiene products
- Chap stick
- Face wipes
- Hand lotion
- Band-Aids/First Aid kits
- Reusable Shopping Bags
2 Greater Boston Food Bank Volunteer Trip
Wednesday, March 20th
70 South Bay Ave, Boston
Volunteers at the Greater Boston Food Bank play a critical role in helping to end hunger within the greater Boston area. Volunteers will work in the warehouse, inspecting, sorting, and repacking donated food and grocery products.
The volunteer shift is from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm.
Transportation from MassBay Community College will leave the Wellesley Hills campus at 8:00am (lunch will be provided when we return to campus).
3 Cradles to Crayons Volunteer Trip
Thursday, March 21st
155 N Beacon St, Brighton
A volunteer shift in The Giving Factory Warehouse involves hands-on processing of children's items that are donated on a regular basis. Each station in the warehouse includes inspecting, sorting, and packaging donations so that they are ready for distribution to the children they serve.
The volunteer shift is from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.
Transportation from MassBay Community College will leave the Wellesley Hills campus at 12:15pm (Lunch will be provided before we leave campus).
