Automotive technicians today need cutting-edge skills to keep pace with the advancing needs of the industry. In partnership with BMW, General Motors, Jeep/Chrysler, and Toyota/Lexus, programs within MassBay’s Automotive Technology Academy offer hands-on training taught by our ASE Master-certified faculty on state-of-the-art equipment and vehicles at our Automotive Technology Center in Ashland.

What’s more? Through our cooperative education program, you will work directly in the field at dealerships in the region and earn a paycheck while you earn your degree. It’s no surprise that nearly 100 percent of our students graduate with a job in hand.

Associate in Science Degree Programs

 

Automotive Technology: BMW

The BMW Associate Degree Program (ADP) is designed to provide the technical competence and professional level of the incoming dealership technician. The program involves academic as well as automotive lecture/ laboratory instruction focusing on BMW products at the MassBay Automotive Technology Center. Students are also required to work at a BMW dealership as part of the cooperative education phase of their training. The BMW Program is a collaborative effort MassBay Community College and BMW. The College retains academic and administrative responsibility for the program and is certified by the ASE Education Foundation in all eight performance areas.

 
 

Automotive Technology: Chrysler

The MOPAR Career Automotive program (MOPAR CAP) is designed to provide the technical competence and prof essional level training of the incoming dealership technicians. The MOPAR CAP program involves academics as well as automotive lecture automotive lecture/ laboratory instruction focusing on Fiat Chrysler Automobiles LLC. (FCA) products at the MassBay Autom otive Technology Center. Students are also required to work at a Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, RAM, Fiat, Alfa Romeo dealership as part of the cooperative education phase of their training. The MOPAR CAP Program is a collaborative effort between MassBay Community College and FCA. The College retains academic and administrative responsibility for the program and is certified by the ASE Education Foundation in all eight performance area.

 
 

Automotive Technology: General Motors

The General Motors Automotive Service Education Program (ASEP) is designed to provide the technical compe tence and professional level training of the incoming dealership technicians. The ASEP program involves academics as well as automotive lecture/ laboratory instruction focusing on General Motors (GM) products at the MassBay Automotive Technology Center. Students are also required to work at a GM dealership as part of the cooperative education phase of their training. The General Motors ASEP Program is a collaborative effort between MassBay Community College and General Motors. The College retains academic a nd administrative responsibility for the program and is certified by the ASE Education Foundation in all eight performance areas.

 
 

Automotive Technology: Toyota/Lexus

The Toyota Technical Education Network (T-TEN) program is designed to provide the technical competence an d professionalism needed to become a dealership technician. The program involves academic as well as automotive lecture/ laboratory instruction focusing on state-of-the art Toyota/Lexus dealership as part of the implementation of the T-TEN Program is a collaborative effort of MassBay Community College and Toyota. The College has the academic and administrative responsibility for the program which is certified by the ASE Education Foundation in all eight performance ar eas. Students may also earn technical course credits from the U niversity of Toyota/Lexus College. Upon completion, the Associate in Science Degree in Automotive Service Technology with a concentration in Toyota (T-TEN) is awarded.

 
 

Automotive Technology: All-Brand General Studies Program

The General Automotive Technology program is designed to provide entry-level through advanced-level technical education on light-duty automobiles from all modern manufacturers. The program includes academic as well as automotive lecture and hands-on laboratory instruction focusing on all automotive systems. Students are also required to work at a program- approved independent repair facility or dealership service department as part of the paid cooperative education phase of their training. The College retains academic and administrative responsibility for the program. The program is certified by the ASE Education Foundation (ASEEF) in all eight major performance areas.

Automotive Technology: Toyota/Lexus

The Toyota Technical Education Network (T-TEN) program is designed to provide the technical competence and professionalism needed to become a dealership technician. The T-TEN program involves automotive lecture/laboratory instruction focusing on Toyota-Lexus products at the MassBay Automotive Technology Center. Students are also required to work at a Toyota-Lexus dealership as part of the cooperative education phase of their training. The T-TEN program is a collaborative effort between MassBay Community College and Toyota. The College retains the academic and administrative responsibility for the program, which is certified by the ASE Education Foundation in all eight performance areas. Students also earn technical course credits from the University of Toyota-Lexus College. Upon successful completion, the Certificate in Automotive Technology with a concentration in Toyota (T-TEN) is awarded.
