Dr. Mona Khaitan

What’s the connection between accounting and Hindu Studies? At Massachusetts Bay Community College, it is veteran educator, Dr. Mona Khaitan.

Since 1993, Dr. Khaitan has been teaching accounting at MassBay to both business and accounting majors and in 2006, started double duty by opening minds and educating students in Hindu Studies as well.

Tom Niemi

Tom Niemi, assistant professor of Business, has been teaching at MassBay Community College since 2013. He has worked with Jewish Family Services (JFS) of MetroWest on embedded mentoring in his management and marketing courses at MassBay. Tom is also a mentor in MassBay's Multicultural Mentoring Program (MMP). In addition, he serves as a SOAR adviser during summer new student orientations. Professor Niemi earned his Ph.D. in Business Management from Capella University, his M.S. degree in Management from Eastern Nazarene College, and his B.S.

Brian Sherry

Due to his grades, he wasn’t able to go to college right away, so he worked full-time as a restaurant server, then moved to the Midwest to work as a lab technician. He soon discovered that the move was a bad personal decision for him and returned to Boston.
   
He met a MassBay chemistry professor who worked with him. 
   
Because Brian loved science and making people smile, he was able to identify nursing as his top choice.
