What is Selective Admissions?

Some MassBay programs have limited seats and minimum admission requirements. These are called Selective Programs.

  • Limited seats are available for each admission cycle
  • Applicants must meet the program’s specific admission requirements and prerequisites
  • Applicants must complete a separate Selective Program Application to be considered for admission
  • Admission can be competitive due to the high number of applicants
  • Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission

The Selective Admissions Process Has TWO Steps:

Start by completing the general MassBay application and select your desired program as your major.

Along with your application, you must provide proof of high-school graduation or equivalency.
Please submit ONE of the following:

  • Official high school transcript including the official graduation date
  • GED/HiSET
  • Official college transcript indicating the completion of an associate degree or higher

Please visit Admissions Application Required Documents for a detailed list of documents the Office of Admissions will accept.

Official documents must be sent directly from the issuing school or organization to admissions@massbay.edu or through a secure electronic delivery system such as Parchment.

Once we receive your completed application and proof of high school completion, you will receive detailed information about your next steps.

After fulfilling all admission requirements, including any applicable course, testing, or credential requirements, submit the Selective Program Application. This lets us know you are ready for review.

Please note:

  • Each program has its own requirements, deadlines, and important dates.
  • The Admissions Committee reviews qualified applicants and makes admission decisions.
  • Central Processing Technology (CPT) does not require a separate Selective Program Application.

Submitting an application does not mean you are admitted to the Selective Program. You must complete all required steps for your specific program to be considered for admission.
