MassBay Community College!

Congratulations on taking the first step to further your education! We hope to ease your transition into the MassBay community for both you and your family and look forward to meeting you at Orientation!   The goal of MassBay’s Orientation is to provide you with the tools you need to succeed.

New Student Orientation is an essential learning experience to start your first year off right. First-time college students are required to participate in orientation to help ensure their academic success.  Transfer and returning students are highly encouraged to participate in orientation to learn about MassBay processes, services and resources.

*The first step in the class registration process is to complete Placement Testing. If you have not yet taken your Placement Test or have questions about this process, please click HERE for Placement Testing Information & Sign-up or call 781-239-2620.  Students who have completed college level Math and/or English courses may be eligible to waive Placement testing click HERE for more information.

After completing your Placement Test: you are required to sign-up for and attend one of the following orientations:

New Student Orientation
For first time college students with no previous college credits.

Transfer Student Orientation
For students who have previous college credits to transfer to MassBay.

Online Orientation
For students taking ONLY online courses or non-credit courses

Family Orientation
This program is designed for parents, spouses, or other adult family members in a supporting role.

As a family member of a new MassBay student, you’re also a member of the MassBay community.  Our Family Orientation is an opportunity for parents, guardians, and other supportive family members of new MassBay students to connect with the college.

This Orientation will offer advice on how we can work together to support your college student, connect you with MassBay resources available to maintain student success, and introduce you to some of the faculty and staff at MassBay who work with our students.  Some of the presenters will include representatives from: Financial Aid, Disability Resources, Student Accounts, Academic Achievement Center, Faculty, and others.

Family Orientation – Summer 2016:
This event is intended for families & guests of the MassBay student.  However, there is a New Student Orientation running at the same time that students can attend: please sign-up for that separately above.
