Prepare for your Summer 2024 Courses!

Important Steps to Starting at MassBay as a new student in the Summer:

 

Step 1

Admitted into a degree or certificate program

  1. Fulfill the Placement Requirement: Placement requirements apply to all students seeking an Associate Degree or certificate in Health Sciences.  Most other certificate programs are exempt. Please check your “To Do” list in Bay Navigator to confirm whether you need to satisfy the placement requirement or not.
  2. Apply for Financial Aid (if applicable) Need Help with your FAFSA application? Text “MassBay” to (857) 309-2942 to our uAspire partners for help over text, zoom, or phone call!
  3. Set-up your MassBay Technology Accounts: Check your email address from our Office of Information Technology (IT). They will have sent you’re your username and instructions for activating your account in OneLogin.

Once you’ve completed steps 1-3, you’re ready to SOAR (Orientation)!

 

We have 3 Summer Sessions as follows:

  • Session 1 – 6 Weeks: May 20 to June 28
  • Session 2 – 10 Weeks: May 20 to July 26
  • Session 3 – 6 Weeks: July 8 to August 16

Orientations for the summer sessions will be available online through LaunchPoint.

Taking One or Two Courses for College Credit/Transfer

 

Step 2

Complete Your Orientation (SOAR) Requirement

Orientations will be available through an online platform called Launch Point.

We have 3 Summer Sessions as follows:

  • Session 1 – 6 Weeks: May 20 to June 28
  • Session 2 – 10 Weeks: May 20 to July 26
  • Session 3 – 6 Weeks: July 8 to August 16

You may follow these steps to complete your orientation requirement:

Step 1: Complete the Launch Point Orientation Coursethen email the certificate of completion with your student ID# to soar@massbay.edu.   

Step 2: Visit the Virtual Q&A Center anytime during the available hours at www.massbay.edu/ask for a drop-in SOAR technology session.  Once you complete your drop-in technology session and finish step 2, we will mark you as completed for SOAR so that you can move onto step 3 and meet with an advisor to register for classes.

Step 3: Meet with an Advisor to Register for Classes.  Once steps 1 & 2 are completed, you may meet with an Academic Advisor to register for classes.  We provide daily drop-in hours in person on the Wellesley Hills Campus (Room 111) or in our Virtual Advising Center (VAC).  For hours and instructions on how to access them, please visit: https://www.massbay.edu/advising

How to Meet with an Advisor

Please meet with an academic advisor to choose classes for the upcoming semester!

How to Access Drop-in Advising:

We provide daily scheduled drop-in hours on the Wellesley Hills Campus in the Academic Advising, Transfer, and Coaching Commons  (W111) as well as daily drop-in hours on our Virtual Advising Center (VAC).
