Faces of MassBay | Reginald Pierre-Charles

Reginald Pierre-Charles

MassBay staff member, Reggie Pierre-Charles, has been at the College for almost 20 years. Born and raised outside the U.S., he immediately felt connected, comfortable, and part of the community when he began at MassBay as he found many people looked like him and spoke his language.

He knows how important education is, especially, as he mentions, coming from a third-world country. He came to the U.S. after his mom passed away, and he promised her he would always do his best to do the right thing and honor her by not doing drugs, not getting into trouble, being kind to everyone, and leading by example.

He had the opportunity to start his education at MassBay and was assisted and supported by a whole host of people at the College which made his transition easier. After completing his degree, he wanted to give back and assist new students just as he was helped when first starting out. He enjoys interacting with everyone at MassBay, frequently running around campus, meeting with students, faculty, and staff.

He feels being connected is important and loves seeing students graduate and go on to do good things with their lives such as owning businesses or becoming doctors. He feels proud that he had something to do with their successes and is gratified that he was part of their journeys. He knows MassBay will always be a part of them. Reggie says the entire MassBay community of staff, faculty, and students, together, are a like a family and are there to support each other.
