Lifelong Wellesley Resident Appointed to MassBay Community College Board of Trustees

WELLESLEY HILLS (August 22, 2014) – MassBay alumnus and well-known Wellesley community member Daniel Juliani has been appointed by the Governor to serve on the MassBay Community College Board of Trustees.

Mr. Juliani has 24 years of experience working in the insurance industry with an expert focus on homeowners, condominium, and commercial insurance. As a Vice President at Deland, Gibson Insurance, one of the larger family owned Insurance agencies in Massachusetts, he helps large commercial and high net worth clients lower their total cost of insurance by identifying, organizing and addressing strategic areas, hazard and business risk. This unique consultative model is designed to lower risk, increase productivity and provide underwriters more information allowing for optimal terms and conditions.

A distinguished MassBay alumnus, Mr. Juliani has previously served as Chairman of the MassBay Foundation Board of Directors and was also a member of the MassBay Alumni Association. In addition to his service to MassBay Community College, Mr. Juliani is a lifelong Wellesley resident who is very active in the community serving currently as a member and former President of the Wellesley Rotary Club, elected as Town Meeting member of the Town of Wellesley, and a former Wellesley Soccer League coach. He is also a trustee and treasurer at Senior Living Inc., an affordable housing agency for seniors and a past treasurer of the Bay State Jaguars, an Amateur Athletic Union basketball organization. He also has earned an Associate of Science degree from Northeastern University.

“I am committed to MassBay and the work the college is doing to provide access and support to students in the Metro West area who are looking to gain the skills necessary to be successful in today's economy,” said Mr. Juliani.

MassBay awards associate degrees and certificates in over 70 academic programs in a wide range of career-driven subjects ranging from accounting and automotive technology to forensic DNA science and early childhood education. The College’s facilities in Wellesley Hills, Framingham and Ashland house day, evening and weekend classes that meet the needs of degree-seeking students and career minded life-long learners. Online options provide convenience and allow faculty to facilitate the learning process. Since its founding in 1961, MassBay has been accredited by several governing bodies and strives to meet the needs of the diverse local communities it serves. Registration is now underway for summer session II, which begins on July 7th, and for fall semester, which gets underway on September 2nd.
