WELLESLEY HILLS, MA (November 11, 2011) – MassBay Community College Professor Timothy Caley was the recipient of the “Instructor of the Year-Technical” award presented by the International Association of General Motors Automotive Service Educational Programs at their annual conference held on October 23 to 26, 2011 at Sterling Heights Michigan.

The award is given to the instructor in recognition of “outstanding achievement as a GM ASEP instructor through innovative teaching and relationships with the GM dealership and college.”

Eligible nominees were selected from 64 schools in the United States, 16 from China and 14 from Canada. They were nominated by their peers and/or students, with winners chosen by a national selection committee.

In his nomination essay, student Adam Clancy had this to say about Professor Caley: “I feel that without Mr. Caley I would not have finished college. He has changed my life in so many ways and with the knowledge that I have gained from him; he has changed my quality of life. And on a personal note, he is a wonderful role model, I only hope that I can live up to the standards he sets for himself, he is a true gentleman.”
