WELLESLEY HILLS (August 22, 2014) – Katherine Daley Tonelli, a 2002 graduate of the MassBay nursing program, has joined the MassBay Community College Board of Trustees.
Ms. Tonelli, currently a Registered Nurse at Steward Caritas Norwood Hospital, has over 11 years of experience in the nursing field. As a highly skilled nursing professional she is dedicated to ensuring the proper treatment and care of her patients at all times.
Ms. Tonelli is also a dedicated MassBay alumna, having facilitated programs for nursing students at the College, serving as a MassBay Alumni Council member for the past 6 years and president of the council for the last two years.
“We welcome the appointment by Governor Patrick of Katherine Tonelli to the MassBay Board of Trustees,” said President John O’Donnell. “I am confident that her background and expertise will be of value to the Board in helping them to advance the goals of the College.”
Ms. Tonelli, a Medway resident and mother of three has also studied Third World development and earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Simmons College. She also holds a certificate in gerontology from the Frank J. Manning Gerontology program at UMass Boston.
“I am thrilled to be appointed by the Governor to the Board,” said Ms. Tonelli. “I welcome the opportunity to provide my input and insight in helping the College to realize its mission.”
MassBay awards associate degrees and certificates in over 70 academic programs in a wide range of career-driven subjects ranging from accounting and automotive technology to forensic DNA science and early childhood education. The College’s facilities in Wellesley Hills, Framingham and Ashland house day, evening and weekend classes that meet the needs of degree-seeking students and career minded life-long learners. Online options provide convenience and allow faculty to facilitate the learning process. Since its founding in 1961, MassBay has been accredited by several governing bodies and strives to meet the needs of the diverse local communities it serves. Registration is now underway for summer session II, which begins on July 7th, and for fall semester, which gets underway on September 2nd.
