MassBay Welcomes Babson President Leonard Schlesinger on April 3rd

WELLESLEY HILLS (March 25, 2013) – MassBay Community College is proud to continue its inaugural Innovation and Leadership Speaker Series with entrepreneur, author, and distinguished leader, Dr. Leonard Schlesinger. Dr. Schlesinger became the 12th President of Babson College in July, 2008. He recently announced that this academic year will be his last at Babson.

Dr. Schlesinger will discuss, “Entrepreneurial Thought and Action - finding and making opportunities to create economic and social value everywhere” on Wednesday April 3rd from 10:00 am – 11:00 am in the Library Atrium on the Wellesley Hills campus of MassBay, 50 Oakland Street.

A prolific author and presenter on organizational management, Dr. Schlesinger has also achieved impressive success in the private sector. At Limited Brands, based in Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Schlesinger held executive positions from 1999–2007, most recently as Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer. From 1985–1988, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Au Bon Pain.

His academic career includes twenty years at Harvard Business School where he served as the George Fisher Baker Jr. Professor of Business Administration, leading MBA and executive education programs. Dr. Schlesinger holds a Doctor of Business Administration from Harvard Business School, an MBA from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in American Civilization from Brown University.

This will be the fourth in MassBay’s Innovation and Leadership Speaker Series. Prior to Dr. Schlesinger, the Series brought to campus entrepreneur and self-made millionaire Robert “Bo” Bennett on March 6th; noted innovator, author and entrepreneur Bhatia Sushil on February 6th; and cancer survivor, inspirational speaker, outdoorsman, and entrepreneur Jothy Rosenberg on November 1st. All Innovation and Leadership Speaker Series events are free and open to the public.
