MassBay Radiologic Technology Class of 2022 Achieves Perfect Pass Rate

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (July 19, 2022) — MassBay Community College proudly announced today that its Class of 2022 has achieved a perfect pass rate on the national American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) licensure exam. Individuals who pass this exam are fully qualified to enter the profession and work as Radiologic Technologists. In addition to passing the ARRT exam, all seven MassBay graduates were offered jobs in the field.

“It’s a proud moment for these hard-working professionals, for their families, and for us at MassBay,” said Karen Hansen, M.Ed., R.T. (R), Radiologic Technology Program Director. “This exceptional group of students successfully navigated both web-based didactic classes while completing over 1,600 radiography hospital hours during two years of COVID. They rose to the challenge of this unprecedented time in health care, showing tremendous perseverance and true dedication to the profession.”

MassBay’s Associate Degree in Science, Radiologic Technology program is offered during the day in a full-time, 21-month sequence of five consecutive semesters starting in the fall; or as a part-time evening (Flex) format of eight semesters starting in the spring.

“Students who graduate from MassBay’s with an associate degree in radiologic technology have been well-prepared for the profession by the rigorous, up-to-date curriculum and by our compassionate, knowledgeable, and experienced instructors,” said Lynne Davis, Ed.D., Dean of Health Sciences. “Students further benefit from clinical rotations at the finest hospitals, clinics, and imaging centers in our region, which provide them with the opportunity to work with imaging professionals, patients, and state-of-the-art equipment. We are proud, but not surprised, but the outstanding achievements of the class of 2022. Congratulations are due to them and to the entire MassBay radiologic technology team of​ Karen Hansen, M.Ed, RT(R), Bill Cote, MA, RT,(R)(CT), and Karen Steinhoff, BSRT,(R).”
