MassBay Achieves Highest National Ranking in School History

FRAMINGHAM, MA (February 8, 2011) – Snow days couldn’t stop the MassBay men’s basketball team from achieving Coach Bill Raynor’s 100th win with the program. That feat was met on Saturday January 15th at the University of Connecticut at Avery Point, to the tune of an 80-63 thumping. Four wins later, the Buccaneers look for coach’s 105th win, but this time they are ranked 4th in the NJCAA National Poll.

MassBay has three home games remaining on its regular season schedule. They host Roxbury Community College on 2/10 at 7:00pm, Community College of Rhode Island on 2/12 at 1:00pm, and Gateway Community College on 2/15 at 7:00pm. The team will finish the regular season by traveling to Bristol Community College on 2/16 at 7:00pm and Dean College on 2/23 at 7:00pm. All games are played on MassBay’s Framingham campus, 19 Flagg Drive.

The Massachusetts Community College Athletic Conference Tournament begins on Saturday February 19th at Massasoit Community College. The NJCAA Region XXI tournament, which will decide who will represent the New England region in the National Tournament, will begin on Friday March 4th at Quinsigamond Community College.

The Buccaneers host Alumni Day on Saturday, February 26th, honoring past players and supporters of the program. The Buccaneers host Summer Basketball Program Day on Tuesday, February 15th.
