Kenneth Der Named to Massachusetts Bay Community College Board of Trustees

WELLESLEY HILLS (February 19, 2013) – Massachusetts Bay Community College (MassBay) Massachusetts Bay Community College (MassBay) President John O’Donnell is proud to announce Wellesley resident Kenneth Der has been appointed to the College’s Board of Trustees.

Mr. Der is an experienced financial services executive and has served as President of Framingham based FAS Corporation since 2003. FAS Corporation provides consulting, accounting, tax preparation and investment services to small businesses and high net worth individuals. Prior to FAS, Mr. Der was the Vice President for Finance and Controller for Edwave Corporation of Sunnyvale, CA, providing financial leadership and fiscal management for the $45 million company. He also worked as an executive for Cisco Systems, Digital Equipment Corp., and Coopers & Lybrand. Mr. Der taught accounting and tax as an adjunct faculty member for three years at Babson College in Wellesley. He holds an MBA from University of California at Berkeley, a Masters in Taxation from Bentley University, and a Masters in Financial Services from the Institute of Business & Finance. His Bachelor’s Degree is from Tufts University.

Mr. Der will attend his first Board meeting on March 19th. Board terms are for five years.

“I am grateful to Governor Patrick for this appointment,” said Mr. Der. “MassBay is an asset to Wellesley, Framingham and the entire MetroWest region, and we must nurture this asset. I look forward to working with President O’Donnell and my colleagues on the Board to advance the mission of the College.”
