Governor Baker Announces a New Member to the MassBay Board of Trustees

WELLESLEY HILLS, Mass. (July 24, 2019) — MassBay Community College is pleased to announce that Governor Charlie Baker appointed Liliana Silva of Arlington, MA to the MassBay Board of Trustees.

Liliana Silva is the Vice President of Patient Access for the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, a leading health care provider that provides care for more than 300,000 patients per year. She is the former Administrative Director for the Lynn Community Health Center’s School Based Health Center Program, Assistant Director for the Cambridge Community Services, Program Manager for the HoPE Alliance Program at East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, Coordinator of Career and Academic Services at Tufts/ New England Medical Center, Coordinator for Smoking Prevention and Cessation Program for Latino Health Institute, Coordinator of Young Latinas Program for East Boston Social Centers, and a Head Bilingual Teacher of a First Grade Class at The English Institute in Santiago, Chile. Silva received her Bachelor of Sciences degree in Elementary Education from University of Vermont in Burlington, VT and a Master’s degree in Management of Human Services from Brandeis University’s Florence Heller School of Social Work in Waltham, MA. She is a resident of Arlington, MA.

Peisch, Chair of MassBay's Board of Trustees. “Lili has considerable leadership and workforce development experience and will be an asset as the College moves forward.”

“I’m excited to join the MassBay Community College’s Board of Trustees,” said Silva. “It’s an honor to contribute to an organization that’s vital to the State’s workforce development engine.”

Silva’s appointment fills the vacant member position of Patty Andrade-Diaz. Silva’s first board meeting was in June 2019. Her term will expire in March 2021.
