MassBay Student Athlete Earns National Academic Award
WELLESLEY HILLS, MA (June 30, 2011) – MassBay baseball player Ben Leazott was recognized by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) with a Superior Academic Achievement Award.
Mr. Leazott, a General Studies major, earned a 3.95 grade point average this past semester. On the field, he excelled as well, batting a stellar .358
“Ben has worked very hard for his achievements both in and out of the classroom,” said MassBay Athletics Director Bill Raynor. “He has made the entire MassBay community proud.”
The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) is the governing body of two-year college athletics, offering athletic and academic opportunities to college students. It is the second largest national intercollegiate athletic organization in the United States with over 500 member schools in 43 states.
Massachusetts Bay Community College (MassBay) is an open-access, accredited two-year public educational institution.
