MassBay Community College Announces New Student Trustee

WELLESLEY HILLS (November 16, 2016) — Massachusetts Bay Community College is pleased to announced Monica Signorino, of Wellesley, has been named MassBay’s new Student Trustee.

Monica is currently a sophomore student studying Liberal Arts, has served as a Student Government Association Senator since the spring 2016, currently serves as a peer tutor at MassBay, a mentor through the MassBay Leadership Association’s partnership with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, served as an Orientation Leader and cheerleader for the MassBay basketball team. Her future goals include graduating with an Associate Degree in May 2017 and transferring to a 4-year college or university to pursue a bachelor degree in Chemistry to become a school teacher.

“I’m honored to be the MassBay Student Trustee, ensuring all student voices are heard,” said Signorino. “I wanted to serve as Student Trustee after I served as an Orientation Leader this summer and I heard from many students. I felt this would be a position where I could help the community and foster a better relationship among students, faculty and staff. I’m excited to serve and I look forward to the year ahead.”

Monica was born and raised in Wellesley and she attended and graduated Wellesley High School in 2013. She was sworn-in at Needham Town Hall and her first Board of Trustee meeting will be October 25, 2016.
