MassBay Community College is proud to collaborate with Framingham State University (FSU) on several key programs and initiatives:
FSU at MassBay
Through FSU At MassBay, MassBay students can complete a bachelor’s degree — right on MassBay’s Wellesley Hills campus. Eligible students, who enroll at MassBay in liberal arts or business administration programs and earn their associate’s degree, can follow a pathway to earn bachelor’s degrees in liberal studies or management from Framingham State University.
Dormitory Housing & Residential Life
For students interested in living on campus, Framingham State University offers full-time MassBay students the next best thing: the unique opportunity to live on FSU’s campus, while attending classes at MassBay. Located just miles from MassBay’s Framingham, Ashland, and Wellesley Hills campuses, Framingham State’s campus this partnerships gives MassBay students the experience of living in a dorm on a college campus. MassBay students live together in the same dorm as a cohort.

Metrowest College Planning Center
The Metrowest College Planning Center (CPC) is a joint Framingham State University and MassBay Community College college-access initiative, aimed at connecting area youth from underrepresented communities, first generation college students, and adults, who are not in the traditional college-age group on a path towards the completion of a certificate or a college degree.
RN to BSN Pathway
Framingham State University and MassBay Community College are pleased to announce a new partnership that provides MassBay students who earn their associate’s degree in Nursing with seamless admission into Framingham State’s Nursing Program to complete their bachelor’s degree.
The “RN to BS in Nursing” Program aims to streamline the process for students to earn their bachelor’s degree in a field that is facing a large shortfall in qualified job applicants due to retirements.
“We are excited for this partnership and the educational opportunities this will provide our students,” said MassBay Director of Admissions and Recruitment Alison McCarty. “We have been flooded with interest in our nursing program from applicants who have noticed our strong license exam pass rates and have heard about our concept-based instruction designed for adult learners who thrive with experiential learning. Having this partnership in place will assist our students earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees and strengthen the local medical community.” Students will have to meet certain criteria in order to ensure seamless transfer to FSU, including:
- Successfully completing the Associate Degree in Nursing at MassBay with a GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Successfully passing the NCLEX-RN exam
- Presenting a current, unrestricted RN license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Early College Initiatives
MassBay Community College and Framingham State University have been awarded $10,000 by the Baker-Polito Administration that will support outreach to underrepresented students in Framingham and Milford Public Schools to participate in early college programs.
Early college programs combine traditional high school courses with an opportunity to earn college credit at a public college or university, typically in a particular career pathway. Under the plan, outreach to students will begin in middle school and will be focused on the following career pathways: business management, education, sociology and criminal justice, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), including life sciences.
