Cyber Security Pipeline
Working with our high schools and community organizations, MassBay is expanding access to quality education and is developing a pipeline of well-trained cyber security professionals in the region.
Beginning in the spring 2018, MassBay partnered with Keefe Regional Technical School and Natick High School to offer free, credit-bearing courses in MassBay’s Cyber Security programs to high school students in our region. Through these courses, students can not only earn several college-credits that apply toward a certificate and degree program at MassBay while they are still in their high school, but also gain knowledge and hands-on skills that are sought by employers in the high-growth, high-demand field of cyber security.
Skills Capital Equipment Grant
In 2017, the College was awarded a $495,000 Massachusetts Skills Capital Grant by the Baker-Polito Administration. The grant provided major funding to upgrade equipment for our Cyber Security laboratory. MassBay also developed “on-the-go” labs to teach advanced concepts in Internet of Things (IoT), mobile and device security. The College is using the new laboratories to expand access to high quality cybersecurity education.
