Working with an academic advisor throughout your academic journey at the college is key to your success as a student! For this reason, all currently enrolled students are assigned an academic advisor who may be a member of the faculty, professional staff, or an advisor in the Academic & Transfer Advising Center. In addition to an email that is sent to every enrolled student with the name and contact information for one’s assigned advisor, this information is always available on your Student Center page in your Bay Navigator account.
Your Assigned Advisor:
Your assigned advisor is ready to meet with you and has likely already reached out to you — please check your MassBay email! Students should connect with their assigned academic advisor and schedule a meeting to review their goals, program of study, academic progress, as well as to review course selection and registration each semester. The general services of the Academic & Transfer Advising Center, such as transfer planning, placement testing waivers, transfer credit review, SAP appeals, and adding/dropping courses, are available to all students at MassBay during our scheduled general Drop-In Hours. New Students Must Attend Orientation (SOAR) before selecting classes and receiving an assigned advisor.
How to Access Drop-in Advising:
We provide daily scheduled drop-in hours on the Wellesley Hills Campus in the Academic Advising, Transfer, and Coaching Commons (W111) from 10am-5pm. We provide daily drop-in hours on our Zoom Virtual Advising Center (VAC) from 10 AM - 2 PM each day Monday through Thursday. For general questions or inquiries that do not need the assistance of an academic advisor, you may email our center and we will respond to you within 1-2 business days: advisingcenter@massbay.edu.
To Drop-In: Click on the green button below during our hours of operation (you must be logged into the center 30 minutes before closing). You will first enter a waiting room, and then when the next available advisor is available you will join their breakout room to connect. As we strive to meet the needs of all of our students during this time, please prepare that there may be a short wait time associated with your visit. Please have your MassBay student ID number ready.
