Title III Grant Objectives
The goal of MassBay’s Title III project is to leverage technology and other resources to address deficits at the College. The initiatives of this transformative grant incorporate student success interventions, provide support to faculty to excel in the classroom, and track students and cohorts to identify barriers to success and make ongoing improvements as needed. Overall, the improvements and initiatives shall be sustainable beyond the five-year grant period.
The following objectives were identified to help the College achieve its goal:
Increase the Fall-to-Fall retention rate of full-time students to 65% by September 30, 2015.
Increase the percentage of full-time, first-time students who complete a degree or transfer within three years to 20% by September 30, 2015.
Decrease the percentage of students who are not in good academic standing to 12% by September 30, 2015.
Increase the success rates in the targeted courses by September 30, 2015:
Critical Thinking to 76%
English 101 and 102 to 73%
Math 090 and 095 to 74%
Online to 71%
Increase the student satisfaction benchmark for “Active and Collaborative Learning” to 52.2% by September 30, 2015
The measurable objectives will help the College improve student engagement and retention, which will contribute to the College’s growth and efficiency.
