Institutional Research

The staff members of the Office of Institutional Planning, Research, and Assessment work closely with the Title III Grant for Student Success Initiatives team to go beyond just data collection but also to increase and improve data analyses at the institution. This enables the College to better understand gaps in performance and to target resources and professional development opportunities to assist faculty, academic programs, and academic support services accomplish their goals.

Student success initiatives will be developed with baseline information included in an assessment plan in place at the onset of each initiative and the staff work to develop appropriate assessment tools to accurately evaluate the success of the initiative.

Examples of the analyses to assess academic outcomes and retention rates in accordance with the Title III grant objectives include:

  • Semester-to-semester retention rates
  • Course completion rates
  • Active and collaborative learning benchmarks
