Dr. Hunter has more than 15 years of experience in higher education. While serving as Senior Assistant Dean for Admissions at Unity College in Maine in 1996-1998, she served on the Board of Trustees Graduate Study Feasibility Ad Hoc Committee, providing recommendations to the Board on distance learning.

As Distance Learning Program Coordinator for the University of Maine System, Advanced Technology Education Center, Dr. Hunter worked with an executive on loan from Maine’s semiconductor industry to deliver academic courses to the state’s high tech sector. She also developed and coordinated delivery of selected non-credit technical programs through the University College system and the University of Southern Maine Center for Continuing Education.

At Saint Joseph’s College in Maine, Graduate and Professional Studies Division, Dr. Hunter led a small instructional design team for the College’s distance education division. She developed and taught online faculty development seminars and implemented an online course quality standards initiative.

Since 2007 Dr. Hunter has managed distance education programming and instructional design support at MassBay Community College. As Dean for eLearning, she serves as co-chair of the College’s Distance Education Committee and plays a leadership role in policy development. She also serves as campus administrator for the Framingham Campus.

Dr. Hunter holds the following degrees: an A.A.S. from Eastern Maine Community College; a B.S. from Husson College (now Husson University); an M.Ed. from University of Maine, Orono; and a D.Ed. from The Pennsylvania State University. She also holds a Certificate of Study in Distance Education from The American Center for the Study of Distance Education and The Adult Education Program at Penn State.
