Community Education

The Community Education branch of the Center for Corporate Training and Community Education offers opportunities for cultural/personal enrichment and professional development. Our non-credit courses are not graded which makes them perfect for exploring a new hobby, learning a new skill in a less stressful environment, or exploring different career options. Our Center celebrates and supports life-long learning and we look forward to helping students grow and find success wherever their individual path takes them. Shape Up Your Career! Students will be prepared for successful entry into the fast-growing personal trainer profession, with key topics that include biomechanics, exercise physiology, fitness testing, equipment usage and health assessment. This course is 60-hours: 15 hours of lecture, 15 hours of hands-on practical training, and a 30-hour internship that can lead you right into a job. Fortune Magazine & list personal trainer as the 4th hottest job in the U.S., with an average pay rate of $34 an hour. Whether a career move or for your own personal knowledge get all the information you need to become a Certified Personal Trainer. The National Exam is held on the 6th week of the course*. $699 (required textbook is not included in cost: $93.97)
