Important Dates

Commencement Exercises- Wellesley Hills Campus
Thursday, May 19, 2016

Be sure to arrive on time! All graduates should arrive by 4:30 p.m. in the Wellesley Hills auditorium for line up. The Commencement Procession begins promptly at 6:00 p.m.

Tickets and Invitations - Student Development
Wednesday, April 20, 2016

Commencement invitations and tickets will be available for pick-up beginning Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in Student Development offices in Wellesley Hills (Room 130) and in Framingham (Room 100). Each graduate will receive up to three (3) Commencement tickets. Each guest must present a ticket to be admitted to the Commencement exercises.

Caps and Gowns - The MassBay Bookstore

All Graduates: Caps and gowns will be available for pick-up, beginning Wednesday, April 20, at the MassBay Bookstore on both the Wellesley Hills and Framingham Campuses. Students should first pick-up their cap and gown voucher from Student Development. The Bookstore will have extended hours for cap and gown pick up. For detailed hours, you can contact the Bookstore for each campus by phone or by visiting their website. For the Wellesley Hills campus, visit www.massbayshop.com or call (781) 239-2650, for the Framingham campus, visit www.massbayframinghamshop.com or call (508) 270-4150.

Veterans:  MassBay recognizes our student veterans and military at the Commencement ceremony. If you are a veteran, reservist or active member of the military and plan to attend Commencement, please contact Marie Hahs at mhahs@massbay.edu to obtain a red, white, and blue regalia cord.
Important Information

Student Accounts
Students with outstanding financial obligations with the College should address this issue as soon as possible as this may impact your eligibility to participate in Commencement. Students should contact the Office of Student Accounts for additional information at (781) 239 -2540. Students with additional obligations such as overdue library books or athletic equipment are encouraged to contact the appropriate offices.

 

Diplomas
Actual diplomas will not be given out at Commencement. They will be mailed to the graduates’ addresses.

Dress Code/Academic Regalia
Commencement is a formal academic ceremony and should be viewed as such in terms of dress and demeanor. The recommended dress for graduates is comfortable business attire. Please consider that shoes and visible items of clothing worn under academic robes should be dark, and consistent with the academic regalia. Please do not wear sneakers, beach sandals, or shorts.

Guest Seating
Guests are welcome to begin arriving at 4:30 p.m. Seating will be under a tent and is on a first-come, first-served basis. The Commencement Exercises will begin at 6:00 p.m.

 

Transportation

Parking
Commencement parking is allowed only in the Student Parking Lot on Oakland Street.  For driving directions, please visit www.massbay.edu.

PLEASE NOTE: Parking spaces are limited as we accommodate families and guests. We strongly recommend that graduates and guests carpool when possible or use public transportation.

Public Transportation and Shuttle Services
MassBay Community College is accessible by MBTA Green Line (D Line – Riverside Station) and by the MWRTA bus (MetroWest Regional Transit Authority).

MBTA Green Line (D Line – Riverside Station): To accommodate graduates and their families, a free shuttle service will run from the Riverside MBTA station to MassBay’s Wellesley Hills campus. The approximate 7-minute shuttle ride will drop off and pick up near the College’s main entrance, a short distance from the event. Departures from Riverside MBTA Station to MassBay will begin at 4:00 p.m. Following Commencement, the shuttle will depart on a regular schedule to the Riverside MBTA Station, from 7:45 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Please refer to the MassBay Commencement website at www.massbay.edu/commencement2016 for additional times.

MWRTA: The MetroWest Regional Transit Authority’s Route 8 bus stops directly in front of our Wellesley Hills campus. Schedules and fares can be found online at www.mwrta.com. Please note that standard bus fares apply.

Communication Access Real-time Translation (C.A.R.T.) services will be provided during the ceremony.

Photography
A professional photographer will be on hand to take each graduate’s photo; these photos will be available for purchase after the event. Following the ceremony, the Commencement webpage will have more information on ordering and purchasing these photos. In addition, a dedicated setting will be provided for the graduates and their families to take personal photos after the ceremony.

Please be advised, MassBay Community College will be photographing our graduates before, during and after the Commencement Exercises. We reserve the right to use these images in our marketing campaigns.
