Admissions Ambassador Program

What is the Admissions Ambassador Program?

The Admissions Ambassador Program is part of the Office of Admissions and aligns with the College’s focus on student success. It is a leadership opportunity for students who are dedicated to serving and representing MassBay. Each Admissions Ambassador will represent MassBay, and will lead campus tours, assist at various college and community events, serve on student panels, and speak with prospective students. Admissions Ambassadors are positive, demonstrate strong communication skills, and have a MassBay Spirit.

Admissions Ambassador Application

MassBay Admissions Ambassadors will:

  • Develop an expanded knowledge of MassBay Community College.
  • Conduct campus tours for new and prospective students, schools, and guests.
  • Represent MassBay Community College during college events.
  • Be prepared to provide feedback to all constitutes on “How to be a successful student.”
  • Assist with variety of office related tasks.
  • Attend Student Admissions Ambassador’ meetings and required trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner.

What are the benefits of becoming a Admissions Ambassador?

As an Admissions Ambassador you will develop a wide range of valuable and transferable skills, including leadership abilities, to add to your resume and college and scholarship applications. Community involvement and those who participate in social service are viewed positively by employers, colleges and universities. Involvement also helps students stay engaged, connected and focused on their academics while serving students and the community. Schedules will vary and be will determined per semester.

Becoming an Admissions Ambassador

The Admissions Ambassador Program Committee selects currently enrolled students. Those who are interested in becoming an Ambassador must submit a completed application to the committee. All applicants who meet the qualifications and requirements will be considered for the program.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must be a currently enrolled MassBay Community College student.
  • Must be currently enrolled in at least 10 credits or be registered for 10 credits in the quarter in which the position would begin.
  • Must have a quarterly and cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.
  • Position has a one academic year commitment.
  • Demonstrate strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibit leadership, initiative, dependability, discipline, and enthusiasm.
