MassBay Students Named to NJCAA All-Region XXI Teams, Earn League Honors

WELLESLEY, MA (March 7, 2017) – Four MassBay Buccaneers have been named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Region XXI teams and earned honors for their top performance in men’s basketball during the 2016-2017 season.

Forward Kameron Jimenez-Fox, who has scored more than a total of 1,000 points so far during his college basketball career, made First Team All-Region for New England. Jimenez-Fox, who was selected for second-team last year, finished second overall this year in the entire conference, scoring 21.2 points per game, earning the most in rebounds at 14.4 per game, and ranking fourth in shooting percentage at 55 percent. Jimenez-Fox also earned a league-high 27 double-doubles this season.

Guards Kyle Jimenez-Fox and Zach Lebowitz, both in their first year at MassBay, were named Second Team All-Region. Jimenez-Fox scored an average of 13.5 points per game this season, and led the team in assists and steals, with an average of 7.6 assists and 3.3 steals this season. Lebowitz, who averaged 12.3 points per game, had an average of 6.2 assists this season and 1.6 steals.

Guard Colin Myers, also in his first year at MassBay, received Honorable Mention. He averaged 10.6 points per game.

Both Jimenez-Fox brothers, Lebowitz, and Myers led the MassBay Buccaneers to a Championship season this year. The team recently clinched the NJCAA Regional Championship and will advance to the national NJCAA tournament next week to face off against the best community college basketball teams in the nation.
