“It’s definitely a lot different than high school. I’m more driven.”

Age: 20
Hometown: Bellingham
Major: Liberal Arts

MassBay is a family thing at the Wilkey household. Erica joined her sister as a MassBay student in 2010, even taking a class together last semester. “I like it here,” says Erica, who came to MassBay right after graduating from Bellingham High School. “It’s definitely a lot different than high school. I’m more driven.”

By registering for her fall 2012 classes, Erica was automatically eligible to win tickets to a Red Sox game – and she won! She’ll be attending the August 7th game at Fenway against the Texas Rangers.

In addition to her full course load, Erica is busy Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays working at a day care facility in Mendon. She’ll be working at a different day care this summer, saving money for fall semester. Despite her fondness for children, Erica decided to change her major from Early Childhood Development and is currently a Liberal Arts major.

“I’m not exactly sure what I want to do after MassBay,” she says. “I’m looking into administrative assistant roles.”

And while her favorite sport is lacrosse – she played for the Bellingham High team – she is a Red Sox fan. “Definitely!”

Congratulations Erica – enjoy the game!!

Erica Wilkey is a Liberal Arts major, scheduled to graduate MassBay in May, 2013. She is the second winner of the Red Sox ticket promotion to reward returning students who register for fall classes before Commencement in May, 2012.
