Dr. Yves Salomon-Fernandez is Dean of Institutional Planning, Research and Assessment at MassBay. She has acquired a broad range of experiences and perspectives from working at large public and private institutions including UMass Boston and Boston College. Prior to joining MassBay, Dr. Salomon-Fernandez was Director of Planning and Assessment at UMass Boston. She brings experience working with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as an Assessment and Accountability Specialist. Dr. Salomon-Fernandez has participated in multiple state-wide reviews of K-12 schools and higher education teacher preparation programs. Her areas of expertise include strategic planning, measurement, and evaluation of institutional effectiveness.
Yves Salomon-Fernandez holds a doctorate from Boston College in Educational Research, Measurement and Evaluation and degrees from the London School of Economics and the University of Massachusetts Boston. In addition, she holds a Certificate in European Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford. As an Adjunct Professor, Dr. Salomon-Fernandez has taught courses in Classroom Assessment, Research Methods, Statistics, and Educational Leadership at area colleges.
