Your guidance counselor can tell you all about it, but here are some quick details:

Through MassBay and the Metro West Consortium, you can earn college credits for free in your high school courses. Better still, these credits can be transferred to MassBay, putting you in advanced placement.

  • Check out a career choice before investing time and money in college!
  • When you come to MassBay and major in the same specialty area as in high school, you could save a lot of time and money if you don’t have to repeat those courses again.
  • Become even more skilled and knowledgeable in your specialty area. In the working world, your college degree translates into a higher paycheck and faster career advancement than those without a college degree.

While you are in your high school Pathway Program, there are many activities to help you become more familiar with MassBay and the program opportunities that are here:

*Please note all activities include transportation for the students from the high school to our campus for a minimum of 10 students.

MassBay has Articulation Agreements with many Career Vocational Technical high schools. This means that, with good grades, you’ll enjoy both a smooth transition from high school to MassBay and you will have the advanced placement or credit that the Articulation Agreements provide. Did you know?

  • Among 41 states in the country, 88 % of High schools offer at least one occupational program. Furthermore 81% Career Technical Education graduates registered for a certificate program, 64% in an Associate degree and 60% in a Bachelors Degree.
  • According to the U.S. Department of Labor, 80% of new jobs will require more than a high school education but less than a four-year degree. In Massachusetts, one out of every two jobs created in the state will require education and training beyond high school.
  • Some jobs that require associate degrees pay more than $35,000 a year.
  • Jobs that require associate degrees are expected to increase 18%, the second fastest rate of growth behind those requiring bachelor’s degrees.
