Scholarships for Current MassBay Students

FOR STUDENTS CURRENTLY ENROLLED AT MASSBAY:
If you are currently enrolled at the College, you may apply for scholarships through ACADEMICWORKS by using your MassBay username and password to log in. We begin accepting scholarship applications on the first day of course registration for each semester. You must be registered in the current semester for your scholarship to be considered. After completing the general scholarship application, you will able to view and apply for particular scholarships. Each scholarship has unique criteria and requirements.

Below is a listing of our scholarship opportunities. Scholarship criteria, award amount, and the semester a scholarship is awarded can be viewed in AcademicWorks.

Alumni Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship was established by nursing graduates of MassBay Community College to assist current MassBay nursing students. $500 scholarship.

Alumni Scholarship

This scholarship was created and is supported through gifts from the Alumni of MassBay Community College. $250 scholarship.

Angelina Grimaldi Cioffari Scholarship

Angelina Grimaldi Cioffari was a professor of French, Spanish, and Italian at MassBay Community College from 1964-1980.  Her son, Vincent, established this scholarship in her memory. This scholarship was established to support a student who demonstrates high academic success in a foreign language. $500 scholarship.

Automotive Technology Scholarship

This scholarship was established to assist returning students enrolled in any of the MassBay Automotive Technology Programs with tuition, tools and/or books. $500 and $1000 scholarships.

Division Award

The Division Award recognizes the achievements of one student in each Division: lHealth Sciences lHumanities & Social Sciences lBusiness & Professional Studies lScience, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics. Applicants are chosen by the Dean of each respective Division. $500 scholarships.

Dr. Bruce Jackson Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established with gifts from the friends of the late Dr. Bruce Jackson to support MassBay students pursuing an associate degree or certificate in STEM fields. $500 scholarship.

Ferris Family Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Howard Ferris, former Dean of the Automotive Technology Program, to assist new or returning, full-time or part-time Auto-Tech students with tuition, tools and/or books. $500 scholarship

50th Reunion Scholarship

This scholarship is supported through gifts from the MassBay Community College 50th Reunion classes. $500 scholarship.

General Scholarship

This scholarship was established to support MassBay Community College students who are in good academic standing at the College. $500 scholarships.

Growth and Generosity Scholarship

The donor of this scholarship believes that the key to life is growth and generosity. This scholarship was established to support a student who can demonstrate, through an essay, his/her own growth and generosity and/or why they believe growth and generosity is important. $250 and $500 scholarships.

Health Sciences One Semester Certificate Program Scholarships

This scholarship was established to support students enrolled in one of the MassBay Health Sciences certificate programs: Central Processing, EMT, or Phlebotomy. It was designed to assist individuals start or restart their education to reach higher-levels of employability. $500 scholarships.

Health Sciences Scholarship

This scholarship was established to support students pursuing a career in Health Sciences complete their degree or certificate program. It was designed to assist individuals to start or restart their education to reach higher-levels of employability. $250-1000 scholarships.

Information Security Summit (Cyber Security) Scholarship

This scholarship was created and is funded by the generous sponsors of the Information Security Summit established by Towerwall and MassBay Community College. This scholarship supports full-time and part-time students enrolled in the Cyber Security Certificate Program. $1000 scholarships.

Krystle Campbell Scholarship

Krystle Campbell graduated with an Associate Degree in Business Administration in 2005 and transferred to the University of Massachusetts, Boston to pursue her bachelor degree.She tragically lost her life at the age of 29 in the Boston Marathon bombings on April 15, 2013. MassBay Community College created this scholarship in her memory. This scholarship was established to support a Business major pursuing an associate degree at MassBay Community College. $500 scholarships.

Leonce Cadet Berotte Scholarship

This scholarship was established in honor of Leonce Cadet Berotte, father of Dr. Carole Berotte Joseph, President of MassBay Community College 2005-2011. A $2000 scholarship is awarded annually to one student who is a deserving international/immigrant dream chaser attending MassBay Community College. $1000 for two consecutive semesters.

Louise Mayer Scholarship

This scholarship was established in honor of Louise Mayer, RN, to support students pursuing a career in the Health Care industry. $500-$1250 scholarships.

MassBay Community College Foundation Board Scholarship

This scholarship was established by the MassBay Community College Foundation Board to support MassBay students pursuing an associate degree or certificate. The Foundation Board members give annually to this scholarship fund. $500 scholarship.

MassBay S-POWER Engineering Scholarship

The S-Power Engineering Scholarship supports a student pursuing an associate degree in Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering who plans on continuing their education in an energy field at a four-year institution. Energy fields include but are not limited to renewable and energy generation, electrical distribution and storage, energy efficiency and infrastructure, materials for energy. $1250 scholarship.

Maxine Elmont Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was named in honor of Maxine Elmont, Professor of Human Services at MassBay Community College. It was established to support a student 25 years or older re-entering college and majoring in Human Services at MassBay. $500 scholarship.

Re-entry Student Scholarship

This scholarship was established to support a student who is 25 years or older and returning to College. $500 scholarships.

Richard P. Carbone Scholarship

Richard P. Carbone was a Wellesley Assistant Principal from 1968 until he retired in 1985. His wife, Toria, recalls, "He was most proud that he never gave up on a kid." This scholarship was established to support students are who interested in pursuing a college education and have completed a minimum of 9 credits at MassBay Community College. $500 scholarships.

Robert and Rosemary Murphy Scholarship

This scholarship was established in memory of Robert and Rosemary Murphy, life-long residents of Needham, Massachusetts to support a MassBay Community College who is a Needham resident. $500 scholarship for two consecutive semesters.

Salomon-Fernandez Scholarship

MassBay Community College Interim President Yves Salomon-Fernandez, Ph.D. (2015-2016), a firm believer public education, established this MassBay scholarship. This scholarship was established to support international and immigrant students who are pursuing a College education. $500 scholarship.

Dr. Yves Salomon-Fernandez Scholarship

This scholarship was established by the MassBay Community College Foundation Board to honor Dr. Salomon-Fernandez for her commitment to MassBay Community College and its students This scholarship was established to support MassBay students pursuing an associate degree or certificate. $400 scholarship.

Single Parent Scholarship

This scholarship was established to support a student who is a single parent with full/joint custody of minor children pursuing a college education. $500 scholarships.

Summer Session Scholarships

Two Summer Session Scholarships are available.
$250 scholarships are awarded to support students enrolled in less than 6 credits in a summer session at MassBay Community College.

$350 scholarships are awarded to support students enrolled in 6 credits or more in a summer session at MassBay Community College.

Virginia F. Sapienza Scholarship

Virginia F. Sapienza was a long-time music professor at MassBay Community College. This scholarship was named in her honor and established to support a student pursuing the arts (visual arts, music, writing, photography) at MassBay Community College. $500 scholarship.
