Summer Scholars Program
Welcome to MassBay Community College’s Summer Scholars’ Program!
Summer Scholars Program (SSP), is a program for new and returning students who need to take College Writing (EN 100) and a development Math 1 Course which covers Basic Math (MA 090), Introduction to Algebra (MA 095), and Intermediate Algebra (MA 098). This program is tuition free for eligible students and develops the student’s study strategies, reading skills and math concepts needed to be successful in college. The key to the success of this program is SSP’s cohort approach to developmental courses, a weekly lunchtime seminar and the opportunity to create a commitment to MassBay and to persisting in college before their fall semester begins
The Summer Scholars Program provides students with:
- Two introductory courses and textbooks absolutely FREE!
- FREE twice weekly Seminar lunches with discussions about Stress Management, Study Skills, Career and Leadership Development.
- The opportunity to build strong relationships with professors, administrators and peers that will last through the student’s college experience and beyond.
