As part of MassBay's mission to help every student achieve their dreams, we offer a number of special programs to facilitate this task.

Online Learning

Update your skills, discover a new talent, or chart a career path at your own pace with our instructor led online courses


Service Learning

This program encourages students to validate course concepts through engagement in activities that address community needs.


ESL – English as a Second Language  

MassBay offers a comprehensive program that focuses on basic understanding of English through reading, writing, speaking and listening activities.


Evening and Weekend Programs

The Evening and Weekend Programming offers a wide variety of credit courses and degree and certificate programs that can be completed evenings, weekends, and summers as well as during the accelerated winter (intersession) term.


Honors

This program provides our students with opportunities to challenge themselves and get the chance to explore challenging topics in in-depth ways.


Learning Communities

Learning communities are an alternative to traditional, stand-alone college courses, in that they restructure class time and curriculae.


Study Abroad

Study Abroad offers exciting international opportunities during your college experience at MassBay.


MassTransfer Program

MassTransfer is the new transfer program that connects Community College students to Massachusetts State Universities and the University of Massachusetts campuses.


Summer Scholars Program

This program is tuition free for eligible students and develops the student’s study strategies, reading skills and math concepts needed to be successful in college. It is a program for new and returning students who need to take College Writing (EN 100) and a development Math 1 Course which covers Basic Math (MA 090), Introduction to Algebra (MA 095), and Intermediate Algebra (MA 098).


Transitional Scholars Program

The Transitional Scholars Program offers students 18-22 years of age with intellectual disabilites the opportunity to participate in inclusive college courses.


Articulation Agreements

MassBay has Articulation Agreements with many Career Vocational Technical high schools. This means that, with good grades, you’ll enjoy both a smooth transition from high school to MassBay and you will have the advanced placement or credit that the Articulation Agreements provide. Check it out with your guidance counselor.


OneBook Project

The OneBook Project is a college-wide initiative that invites students, faculty, staff and members of the outside community to read a common text and engage in activities and discussions around that text. The goal is to create an interdisciplinary learning community which explores issues relevant to the text and our community and which enhances student engagement.
