HESI A2 RN Admission Exam

All students applying to the Associate Degree Science in Nursing (ADN) program at MassBay must take the HESI Admission Assessment (A2) exam at a Prometric Test Center. The exam assesses an applicant’s academic readiness and is a predictor for success in the first year of an ADN program.
HESI publishes a review book specifically for this exam, Evolve Reach Admission Assessment Exam Review, 3rd Edition, Copyright 2013, ISBN 978-1-4557-0333-3. This book can be purchased thru Amazon or at bookstores such as Barnes and Noble, and is also available for purchase through MassBay’s campus bookstore. The book will include samples of test questions from the subject areas that will be covered on the exam as well as information regarding test question formats. It will highlight important concepts and provide tips for studying and test-taking.
WHEN TO TAKE THE EXAM
Students typically take the HESI A2 during the fall semester immediately prior to applying to their ADN program of choice (day or evening). Students should have completed all prerequisites, or be currently enrolled in those courses, before taking the HESI A2. Seats in MassBay’s ADN program are limited. It is recommended that you take the exam and have your application acted upon as early as possible. Discuss your readiness with your academic advisor or admissions counselor.
HESI A2 TEST DATES FOR FALL 2014 ENROLLMENT
There are two HESI A2 exam windows for candidates seeking to enroll into the Fall 2014 class:
